A New Model for Low-Income Housing in Durham, NC

In rapidly gentrifying Durham, North Carolina, local residents, activists, nonprofit organizations, and the City of Durham worked together to imagine a new way to create low income housing. Nonprofit developers Self-Help and DHIC partnered to build Willard Street Apartments, which heralds a new era in Durham. This video tells the story of the remarkable efforts that residents, businesses, organizations, and government made to achieve a common goal and help make downtown a more equitable place for all.
